From party's to the park Shalyn did it all and December isn't even over. In this slideshow you'll see just how many events she took part in. Now it is time to slow down a bit and have a relaxing family Christmas in 2 days.

It's been an exciting 3 months with Canyon in our family. He loves it when Shalyn makes him smile and laugh. He has a special Blue Blanket and rubs his face when he gets it. It puts him to sleep. He weighs 13 lbs. and has blue eyes still. Shalyn had blue eyes until 7months then turned brown. We'll see what God has in store for our little Canyon. He is sleeping well at night but starting to cry early in the a.m. Shalyn is a great big sister and loves to help calm him when he cries.
A 5 hour drive turned to 7 hours just to get to WPB. Ouch. Looking back there wouldn't be a thing that I would change. We had a blast in Miami. Catching up with Haley's family. Playing the Wii, some cards, and even frying a turkey with cousin Massey. Shalyn had a chance to play with the girl cousins. Canyon and Grant will have a hard time being macho in this family. We stopped by the Dukes house and had the best pork chops in the world. Thanks Danny. Kudos to Aunt Joann for the great thanksgiving meal. In my case I should say meals.
What a great year for the Gators and our family. We had a chance to witness GA fans leave the game in the 3rd quarter. Woohoo. Go Gators. Thanks for everyone who made this years FLAGA tailgate an incredible time. Please send me some photos. A special thanks to the Crawfords and Newitts for setting up and tearing down the tailgate.
We had an exciting month of October. Haley had a chance to enjoy some time with Canyon during her maternity. She even took care of Bretton for one day. Uncle Eric stopped by the house during his week in Athens GA. Sorry Sue but Eric saw Canyon 1st.
Shalyn and Haley baked cookies for the local Fire station. The firemen let Shalyn tour the garage and climb into the firetruck. They appreciated Shalyn taking the time to visit.
Shalyn dressed as a Penguin, Canyon (bear), Haley (Strawberry Shortcake), & Hector (Handy Manny) for the School Carnival. The kids toured the classrooms and trick or treated inside. Shalyn even went on the train and a super bounce house slide.
On Halloween night we tailgated in front of the house passing out candy. Hector's front yard maze was a hit. Although the grass has yet to recover from the 100's of kids.
We are extremely excited about our son Canyon Jack Alvarado... born Sept 6th, 2008 @ 8:05pm 6lbs. 10ounces and 20inches long
His name means so much to our family and we hope that no one gets the nerve to call him cj, haha. Canyon is what Shalyn would have been named if she were a boy. Haley and I went out to visit the beautiful Grand Canyon for our 2nd year anniversary. If you remember we brought back Grand Canyon photos & one picture announced our 1st pregnancy. Jack is Haley's fathers nickname.
Haley went into finally felt her contractions throughout the day and we went into the hospital around 4pm. Next thing you know we had a beautiful baby boy. Yes Meredy, Michelle, Shalyn, & Brian Till you were right. And kudos to Latika for being spot on with the time of delivery.
Absolutely beautiful weather we have been blessed with this summer. Shalyn enjoyed the many trips to the beach, movies, zoo, and to see family. Daddy even got her a mega waterslide.
On a sad note Monte has been placed with his 5 year old brother Juleus. They reside with a sweet lady on the northside of Jacksonville and we even had the chance to see Monte at his 2nd birthday party. Please keep Monte in your thoughts and prayers.
Haley is now 38 weeks into our 2nd pregnancy. She has been go go go since school started back up last week. Fortunately everything is going as planned and we are due on Sept 15th.

Last but not least Shalyn was an honorary member of the Infinity Allstar Cheerleaders float during the "Opening of the beaches parade". The theme was pirates and she made one hell of a cute one. We don't have many pics of the event but Grammy/Papa Jack, Diddy/Kevin/bretton, and Mommy/Daddy cheered her on.
We went to Las Vegas for our 5th Year Anniversary. Haley has never been to Vegas and we made it a point to walk the strip every day we were there. We had the chance to see Cirque De Soleil "O" and Wayne Brady. We stayed at the flamingo across the street from Caesars and Bellagio.
You may see quite a few pictures taken of Elvis. The reason being is that Michelle & Wayne didn't get to see any when they were in vegas (December). I know...Hard to believe.
Haley's favorite part of vegas had to be the shows and my favorite part was playing video poker (Haley and I hit four 4's twice (My Lucky Number) & four 5's once) woohoo!
Here are a few pictures that we took of Monte and us! He is doing well in our family. We enrolled him in day care and spend plenty of time taking him to his new favorite place... THE PARK! I wonder where he figured that one out...Shalyn of course!
We are working on getting Monte to say the words: More, Please, Thank You, and Up. He picks things up quickly but he is too quick to show his temper as well. Especially when we say No, No Monte. We are having a blast and we'll continue to keep you all posted.
