Shalyn's shoes!

The other day Shalyn screamed "Mommy, mommy!" so loud in the morning as we were getting ready for school. I thought something was wrong. I ran over to her and she beamed "I tied my shoes all by myself!" We couldn't help but share how proud she is of herself and we are of her and this new skill! We got her new, bright green shoelaces because all of the kids in my class get special shoelaces when they learn how to tie their shoes!!

Super Motorcross!

Life is all about experiencing new things! Michelle and I took Shalyn, Evyn, and Sharon's kids, Nathan and Ashley to Super Motorcross for the first time. We all had a good time, although Michelle and I were trying to figure out the rules of the sport the whole time! Good times, good fun, and the best $5.00 hot chocolate you ever had! Although Shalyn had the super earmuffs, she loved every minute off it, except for the surprise fireworks!!

MudRun 2010 (Team Filthy)

Haley and I joined some friends for this years 6.5 mile obstacle bootcamp mudrun. Our team name was Filthy and we sure ended the day looking like it. Next year we want everyone to join in on this great cause...thanks for all of you who sponsored our team. We Made It!

Bedtime Books

Nothing better than little boys in PJ's. Canyon LOVES books! He will go into his room and sit on the toddler bed and look at one book after another. His favorites are The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Going on a Bear Hunt, and Miss Lucy had a Baby! Read on little man!!

Shalyn's T-Ball

Shalyn is playing T-Ball now and she's super lucky to have her cousin, Grant on the team and have Daddy and Uncle Glenn help Coach Bill for practices and games. She had her first game this past weekend and she did great! She even got the first game ball for great sportsmanship and good attitude on the ball field. Grammy and Papa Jack came to cheer Shalyn and Grant on. Robin, Tim, Addison, and Trey were down from N.C. and stopped by to see us too. Canyon is quickly following in Shalyn's footsteps by already putting the ball on the tee and hitting it with his plastic bat (all by himself). Looking forward to many more fun memories at the ball park. GO MARLINS!!!

Alittle late ...but Happy Birthday Hector!

January was so busy with the New Year, our Anniversary trip to Lake Tahoe, SuperBowl, etc. etc. However, we did want to share with everyone that yes...Hector is getting old. He woke up to the most adorable "put a smile on your face" birthday sign that Shalyn worked so hard to make for him. The sign read "Happy Birthday Daddy" and she made sure that it was made of Gator colors because "my daddy likes the Gators." She also had to make a pattern to see if Hector would notice. Here's to another fun, chaotic, crazy, busy, life as we know it year!!! Happy Birthday Hector!

Shalyn's favorite present was her remote control race car but she also got a buzz lightyear and a baseball bat and helmet. Canyon loved his regifts and stocking stuffers....balls: basketball, baseballs, footballs. We spent xmas dinner at Stacy's house with papa jack and grammy. Keith and Linda; Glenn's brother mike took pix with canyon and shalyn. Thank you for everyone's xmas cards and gifts for the kids.
Newyears at linette's house in LP was just as fun as any. Shalyn made it to new years and danced more than daddy. Hat twirling on her finger was the dance of choice.
